Doug Haughton is a local legend in the automotive industry, he spent a total of 54 years in the industry. Doug wrote150 automotive articles for the Kitsap Sun and other publications. Doug also taught automotive technical classes twice per week at Olympic college.
Doug worked his way up through the service ranks starting as an apprentice technician at Traveller's motors in Bremerton, WA, which was a Chrysler, Dodge and Dodge truck dealership. He eventually earned his Journeyman's and became a Certified Master technician at Tacoma Dodge. Doug furthered his career as a service writer, assistant service manager, service manager and finally a parts and service director.
Liberty Bay Auto Center started in 1989 and Doug was pivotal, operating as a service consultant to aid in turning an old lumber mill into a functioning repair shop and service center. In 1997 Doug founded and opened the Auto Glass clinic and eventually took over as General Manager for Liberty Bay Auto in 1999, shortly after he became a co-owner at Liberty Bay Auto.
